Effective date: 9 August 2026. Double You is operated by Timothé Paris as an independent publication. The goal is to collect as little personal data as reasonably possible. We do not sell personal data.
Information collected automatically
The site is hosted by Netlify. Like other hosting providers, Netlify may process technical request and operational data needed to deliver, secure, and monitor the site. Depending on the service and plan, this can include request information and deploy, function, edge-function, or audit logs. Retention is controlled partly by Netlify and the applicable plan. See Netlify’s log documentation and privacy statement.
Google Analytics 4 is the site’s disclosed audience-measurement service. When its site-specific tag is enabled, Google may receive page activity, approximate location, browser and device characteristics, and a pseudonymous client identifier. Its standard web implementation can set first-party cookies including _ga and _ga_<container-id>. Google says Analytics uses IP addresses during processing but does not log or store individual IP addresses. See Google’s explanations of Analytics data safeguards, default data collection, and GA4 cookies.
Contact forms
If you use a contact form, we receive the name, email address, message, and any information you choose to include. Netlify processes the submission for delivery and abuse prevention. We use it only to respond, handle the request, maintain necessary records, and protect the service. Do not submit sensitive information.
Advertising and referral links
The site may display third-party advertising or use referral links. Those providers may process request data, cookies, or referral parameters according to their own policies. A commercial relationship does not change an article’s editorial standard. Paid or referral relationships should be disclosed near the relevant link or content. See the advertising disclosure.
Cookies and local storage
Google Analytics and future advertising services may use cookies or similar browser storage when enabled. Essential hosting and security functions may also process technical identifiers. We do not block readers who reject cookies or use an ad blocker.
Retention and sharing
We keep direct messages only as long as reasonably needed to answer them, keep necessary records, resolve disputes, or meet legal obligations. Analytics and hosting data follow provider settings and contracts; aggregate reports may not identify an individual. Information may be shared with infrastructure, analytics, advertising, or referral providers only for the disclosed service, or when legally required.
Your choices and rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to processing of personal data, and to receive portable data or complain to a supervisory authority. Use the contact page and describe the request. We may need enough information to verify that the request concerns you. Some aggregate or security data cannot be linked back to a person, and some records may need to be retained by law.
We will update this page when the site’s data practices materially change. This policy describes the website; linked third-party sites control their own processing.
